Thanks, SAS! And thanks for suggesting Totovents. I don't have time to read it closely right now, but I'll definitely take time to do so one day! Eventually I'd like to get through as many of our big writers as I can. :)

Here's my next problem:

Thanks!

Thanks guys (Kars)!

Here's the last one for this story:

I suppose նստեր is the past tense of "sit."

Yes. This form (նստեր էր) is in use in modern Western Armenian.

Here's the last one for this story:

էզարկ = զարկեց

Thanks!! I learn new things every time I come here! :)

So, I'm reading «Անձրևը...» now.

I have a couple of problems in this one paragraph (or dialogue, actually). They're more technical terms, but I hope you guys can help me anyway:

Context: a worker or guide at a hydrocentral plant is giving a tour of their machines.

Hi,

Here's my next problem in this story:

Thanks (and also to anyone who can help me with my last post)!

Paran,

Feed,Feeder, Cyanamide:

I had to look up feeder (once again, I didn't realize it was an English word!! ). I'm not very familiar with technical terms, but feed/feeder makes sense, I suppose.

I thought as much, but wanted to make sure.

The only person I found that could have invented anything within this context is Pelton: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lester_Allan_Pelton

Hello again,

I'm so sorry you had to miss me for a short while, but I'm back. :)

Anyhow, I'm currently reading «Մի անգամ հոկտեմբերի 25-ին...» and I hope you can help me a few problems.

The full-text is here: http://www.eanc.net/EANC/library/Fiction%5...ace_language=en

My first question concerns a couple of place names. The story takes place in St. Petersburg, so I hope some of you are familiar with the city (I've looked up what I could on the internet, but am still stuck with a few possible mistransliterations).

Here's the first: Չուխոն and Պիտեր

And while I'm asking about place names, I'd like to get back to an earlier question I had about Մորոզով and Ցենդել (see here). I found Morozov on the Russian map (to the south, above Georgia), but I'm unable to find Ցենդել. Anyone any ideas on where it could be (and what the Latin transliteration is)?

Պիտեր = Պետերբուրգ:

Ouch! It is indeed Tsindel, not Tsendel. Sorry. :( Still, do you know where it is? How to find it on a map?

Here's the next one: Ձասմա. It's supposed to be an Estonian (folk?) song, but I can't find it anywhere. Any ideas on where I could find it?

Ah, thanks!! I looked up "dziesma" and it turns out to mean "song" in Latvian...

Okay, here's the next one:

Uhm, I guess it wasn't that obvious... :) Anyhow, I'd be more inclined to think of "trap" in English as being either a snare for catching things (such as animals) or as a trap door (an opening in a floor).

"Aurora," yes?

Thanks again!
