Ведь у русскоязычного армянина Саши бабушка по отцовской линии — чистокровная немка, а мама — русская с примесями восточных и западных кровей. Ее отец хорошо играл на скрипке.А бабушка со стороны отца, воспитанница гимназии, говорила на 5–6 языках и прекрасно рисовала. Она родом из Санкт–Петербурга, где у большой, многодетной семьи ее отца была процветающая мясная торговля. С дедом–армянином они говорили, по воспоминаниям Саши, по–русски.
