YEREVAN (YERKIR) - The Turkish Ambassador to Canada has sent a letter

to the members of the Canadian parliament, calling to vote against

recognition of the Armenian Genocide, saying such move would harm the

Turkish-Canadian economic and political interests.

To counter the Turkish diplomat's attempts, Armenian Ambassador to

Canada Ara Papian has sent a letter to the parliament members urging

them to adopt the resolution.

Meanwhile, American and Canadian Turks have been carrying out an

extensive e-mail campaign against the adoption of the resolution. The

ANCC and the AYF of Canada, in turn, are carrying out their own e-

mail campaign in favor of the resolution.

The House of Commons has scheduled a vote on Motion M 380 on April 21.
