Top seed Nathalie Dechy had few problems in her first match of the week in Strasbourg, defeating Czech Iveta Benesova, 63 62. Dechy, who made her Sony Ericsson WTA Tour debut at this event some 1995, was playing in Strasbourg for the first time since 2000.
