marianag
Hello everyone, My name is Mariana and I am wife of Ruben (39 y.o.). We have a little son (19 months old). My husband is an Armenian refugee from Azerbaijan (Baku). We live in the US. Unfortunately, Ruben has recently been diagnosed with Myelofibrosis which is a serious and rare bone marrow disorder. Normally, it is not curable and it`s deadly. But in some cases, when a patient is young enough and in a generally good condition, it is curable by a bone marrow transplant (BMT). The doctors want to do the BMT because we got a 70% chance to get cured. They have searched the national US bone marrow donor registry and also all the international registries, including Armenia (Armenian bone marrow registry), but unfortunately they did NOT find any possible match (donor). They also tested his only sister but she is not a match, either. THE CHANCE TO FIND A DONOR IS MUCH HIGHER IF MORE ARMENIANS (NEW PEOPLE) REGISTER WITH THE BONE MARROW REGISTRIES - no matter where in the world. Armenians mostly match Armenians and similar nationalities, that`s why we need help from Armenian public. To increase a possible number of matches I kindly ask you - if possible and if you would be willing to do so - please send this message to all your Armenian friends and if possible, please register with your local national registry. There is a zero risk for the donor. Once you register you will stay in the database. You can be removed anytime if you wish. And even if they contact you, you can always refuse to donate your marrow. It`s completely voluntary. DEUTSCHLAND: http://www.zkrd.de/adressen_sp_inst.html SWITZERLAND: http://www.blutspendedienst.ch/de/wer_wir_...endedienste.php ARMENIA: http://www.abmdr.am/ USA: www.marrow.org All these national registries are connected. So if someone let`s say in Australia is a match, we will get a message. Any questions - please let me know. Thank you very much for your help and understanding and God bless you.
