Bosnian hip hop artists, members of the FMJam crew, played the main role on the regional scene at the end of 90’s. Edo Maajka and Frenkie were real regional stars, while other crews from Bosnia did not stand a chance to follow them, which resulted in a huge gap between FMJam and the rest of hip hop crews in the country during the last decade.

In order to spice up the scene and fill in the gap, we proposed Red Bull MC Battle. The idea of giving the wings to the scene was joyfully accepted and the show could begin.

The venue hosted approximately 800 spectators who created a very hot atmosphere and raised the roof with ovations and positive reactions to MCs’ punches and cool rimes.

MCs had a task to fight some tough battles one on one, and show their best free style capabilities when given by jury three words that should be used in the battle – these very words had to be used to punch the competitor. Members of the jury also juiced up the show and entertained the spectators with live drawing of MCs just before the battle (MCs did not know who they will be fighting until just before the battle).

Frenkie, the host, together with the jury, led the program that was a spectacular, purely hip hop (rarely seen), show. The jury also involved spectators in decision making, which lead to ties when jury and spectators could not decide on the winner, thus some MCs battled twice. In the final battle Sterma from Sarajevo was crowned the best, and all three jury members went to the ring to pay him respect. Throughout the night, Frenkie (before the event), General Woo (before the semi finals) and Edo Maajka (before the finals) performed for the crowd as well, which was a bonus thrill.

The event was named the best ever hip hop event in Bosnia Herzegovina by a lot of famous people.
