Competition categories include: art, literature, drama, poetry, instrumental music, vocal music, and music composition. Candidates must be students enrolled in highly competitive colleges and universities. Applicants must also have a GPA of 3.5 or better during their undergraduate study. Terms of Award: Loans range from $5,000 - $7,500 yearly. Repayments begin within 12 months of completion of full-rime study and extended 5 to 10 years depending on the amount of the loan. Applicants must provide a detailed proposal including a budget, details of any travel required, and the names of other sources, which have been approached for funds. Students may receive a maximum of four annual awards through re-application. Re-application is simply by letter of request updating prior information and having up-to-date transcripts sent if study has been continuous and at the same school. No more than one member of the same family may be awarded a scholarship in a given year although more than one family member may apply. Стипендии ASA (Armenian Students' Association) Scholarships for college and graduate students are being offered by the ASA for the 2006-2007 academic year. In order to be eligible for an ASA Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: - Must be of Armenian descent. - Must be enrolled as a full-time student and have completed one full year of academics at a four-year accredited U.S. college by June of 2006 OR must be enrolled in a two-year college and are transferring to a four-year college or university as a full time student in the Fall of 2006. - Must be a U.S. citizen OR must possess appropriate Visa status in order to study in the U.S. Application Procedures: - You must meet all the eligible criteria stated above. - The deadline for the application and all required documentation is March 15, 2006. Your application must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2006. Ну что Вы, Celtic, я могу продолжать с Вами разговор хоть до бесконечности, просто он плавно переходит в оффтоп Ну, для начала, как-то я сначала не обратила внимание эту фразу Меня сносит волной общественного мнения? Да если бы! Если бы общественное мнение (я имею в виду армянское общественное мнение) было такое как у меня, я была бы счастлива! Но общественное мнение, к сожалению то, что армянкам надо выходить замуж только за армян, девушки в коротких юбках - легкого поведения, мужчина всегда прав, женщинам - Kuсhe, Kinder, Kirche и т.д. (про норму рабизства и выпендрежа я промолчу) Не буду оспаривать. Возможно. Но мне себя в этой роли очень трудно представить... Единственное о чем поспорю: "Женщина, которая всего в жизни добивается исключительно сама и на всё имеет исключительно свою точку зрения - это ведь уже трагедия?" Я думаю каждый образованный человек должен на все иметь свое мнение. Женщина, как ни странно, тоже человек А добиваться надо как? Через родителей? Через мужа? На сколько я поняла из Вашего поста, вообще добиваться не надо... Не согласна с этим... Но это так, у нас с Вами просто разные мнения Может и сложно, но армяне ведь бывают разные - с разными чертами характера, с разными ценностями, с разными целями и смыслами жизни, как в общем-то все люди на земле. Поэтому очень даже может быть, что армянин найдет иностранца, который по духу ему будет ближе, чем все те армяне, с которыми он был знаком. Это ведь возможно. И под конец. Армяне - не варвары. Я все пишу из своего личного (пусть и небольшого) опыта. Я практически не встречала армянина (практически, потому что вроде встретила ), с которым смогла бы связать свою судьбу, хотя армян знаю кучу. Поэтому подозреваю, что я могу быть не одна такая. Для меня лично "общеармянское мужское поведение" (если можно так выразиться) неприемлемо. Но это ведь не значит, что это аксиома. Просто кроме меня могут быть сотни девушек, которые считают также, и многие из них выйдут замуж за иностранца, так и не встретив подходящего армянина. И это не означает, что они предательницы, проститутки, или повинны во всех смертных грехах. Это означает только то, что они не встретили "нормального" (для них нормального) армянина. А под занавес - пример из жизни - моя двоюродная сестра, живет в Ереване. Ей 25 лет, она до сих пор не замужем (хотя по армянским ереванским меркам уже давно пора). Говорит, что возможностей много, но нормального парня нету. Ну вот, даже в Армении с ее 98% армянским населением кто-то себе "нормального" найти не может, а вы говорите... -

Если в на первый взгляд мусульманской семье (ведь глава семьи мусульманин) такое допустили, (уже хотя бы ребенка назвать армянским именем, я уже не говорю крещение и все такое - для мусульман это же вообще позор), то никакие они не верующие мусульмане. Про девушек отдельный разговор Можноподумать армянские парни женятся только на армянках. Я же писала, когда армянин женится на не армянке. Это - проблема армянских девушек Я беру к примеру частный случай - на пример мне в жизни встречался десяток, не больше, нормальных (для меня нормальных) парней армян. А кому-то, наверно, и того меньше... Может кто-то еще более привередлив чем я ))) И именно в таких случаях чаще всего случаются браки с иностранцами. Я же говорю, на вкус и цвет товарища нет, для кого-то, может, все армяне - нормальные, и этот кто-то меня не поймет -

"Нормальные" - понятие относительное. Для кого-то общая армянская масса нормальная, для кого-то - нет. Я просто объясняю тем, кто обвиняет девушек, которые выходят замуж за не армян во всех смертных грехах, что проблема в большинстве случаев - в мужчинах. -

Нормальные армяне, может, и не перевелись, но их почти нет. Какие мои действия я пытаюсь оправдать? Я не замужем и даже не собираюсь Нормального армянина нашла (вроде) - мне, можно сказать, повезло (тьфу-тьфу-тьфу) Но просто не всем так везет... Кстати, интересно, что по-вашему мне надо было бы делать, если бы не нашла? Уходить в монастырь? Или жертвовать своей жизнью ради того, чтоб мы не ассимилировались? -

Знаете в чем разница между Вашим и моим мнением? Вы думаете о нации в целом (как плохо ассимилироваться), а я - о личном счастье каждой женщины, в том числе и о своем. Ну вот реально, посоветуйте, что делать армянке, которая так и не встретила нормального армянина. -

Уважаемый Celtic, лично мне внешность не так важна (не буду врать, что не важна, но не так важна). Если у ереванца из деревни Лусакунк нормальные (для меня) взгляды на жизнь и интересы, то я в нем могу что-то найти (ведь кепку и никому не нужные очки в темной комнате можно снять )) ) А под рабизом и выпендрежем я в первую очередь подразумевала не внешность, а стиль жизни, взгляды и т.д. Знаете, человек внешне может абсолютно нормально выглядеть, а вот взгляды и стиль жизни у него могут быть выпендрежно-рабизские. И зачем мне искать что-то в человеке, если у нас с ним а приори ничего быть не может? Зачем мне ломать себя, свою жизнь, взгляды и нравы, если я вполне могу найти нормального, по крайней мере более подходящего мне по духу человека, пусть и не армянина... И где же это место? "иначе она не нужна" звучит смешно. Что б вы без женщин делали-то? :lol: -

По-моему, первое, что ищут в таком случае это то, чтоб взгляды и ценности совпадали. О чувствах я не говорю, ибо любовь зла Тут и рабиза полюбишь, и выпендрежника, и араба и перса )) -
