First you say that 300 not enough, and now 40000 is too many! - Sydney is very expencive I dont know what you mean here. Housing is expensive for sure, but everything else: food, clothes, fuel etc. is the same as everywhere else in Australia if not cheaper . I was in Melbourne a month ago, and prices are the same.... В этом плане примечателен материал еженедельной газеты «Нор ор» в номере от 14 мая об организованном банкете-торжестве в обеденном зале «Ани», организованном Партией Рамкавар азатакан Сиднея (Австралия), культурным Советом Ваан Текеян и Армянской Организацией правового совета, на котором чествовали док. Аветиса Япучяна, многие годы работающего редактором, а также известного историка и филолога в связи с его 75-летием и 60-летием служения нации. На этом торжестве чествования рядом с ним были его идеологические друзья и множество соотечественников. Во время торжества председатель Австралийского звена ПРА Айк Лепечян зачитал поздравительное письмо Клуба «Артак Дарбинян» ПРА, вручив юбиляру почетную памятную доску. Имя Япучяна знакомо на родине, где он защитил в 1974 году докторскую диссертацию по исторической линии. Родился в Каире. Окончил Национальное училище Галустян в Каире, позже - факультет журналистики Педагогического института в Лондоне. В 1967 г. взял на себя обязанности редактора официальной газеты ПРА «Арев». Благодаря непреклонной воле, терпеливому трудолюбию и плодотворному перу, вышли в свет вначале на страницах газеты, а затем и отдельными томами исторически ценные исследования под следующими заголовками: «Великая борьба армянского народа за существование и порабощение Армянской Республики» (1968г.), «Кто организовал февральскую авантюру и ее последствия» (1970г.), «И возродился армянский народ из огня и меча» (1971г.), «Политическое, военное, экономическое положение Армянской Республики» (1972г.), «Борьба за независимость армянского народа в Киликии 1919-22гг.) (1977г.), «Великий Геноцид в оценке иностранной интеллигенции» (1980г.). Япучян впервые перевел с английского и французского языков на армянский язык и напечатал в газете образцы перл западноевропейской литературы: «На западном фронте без перемен» Ремарка, «Кинжал в саду» Вае Кача и др. Неутомимый редактор, историк, культурный деятель и переводчик нашел также время помогать армяно-египетской молодежи, сплотившейся вокруг «Союза любителей искусства» 60гг. прошлого века своими советами и, помогая своим непосредственным участием во всех их мероприятиях. И сегодня Япучян с преданностью продолжает свою деятельность в области письменности и литературы, являясь редактором армянского отдела месячной двуязычной газеты «Миутюн».
