Justine Henin-Hardenne (left), the 2003 champion at Flushing Meadows, advanced to her second straight final with a 64 75 win over Serbian teenager Ana Ivanovic. Henin-Hardenne, now on a 10-match win streak, won the Charleston title two weeks ago. Earlier, reigning US Open titleholder Svetlana Kuznetsova ruled out the chance of an all-Belgian final, ending the 17-match unbeaten run of Kim Clijsters. Gasquet defeated World No. 1 Roger Federer to reach the semifinals of Monte-Carlo in his only other ATP-level event this year. Awaiting the 18-year-old in the second round is No. 6 seed Andre Agassi who defeated wild card Alessio Di Mauro.
