Kars
Very powerful documentary, armenica. Thank you for introducing it to this forum. “Charged with insulting the Turkish State” says a lot – no further comments needed. Do you, personally, think (like this Turkish intellectual thinks) that there is hope? That one of these days Turks will come to their senses and will find enough inner power to acknowledge their bloody past? I don’t.
armenica
Very powerful documentary, armenica. Thank you for introducing it to this forum. “Charged with insulting the Turkish State” says a lot – no further comments needed. Do you, personally, think (like this Turkish intellectual thinks) that there is hope? That one of these days Turks will come to their senses and will find enough inner power to acknowledge their bloody past? I don’t. Well, lets be optimists! If there are people such as Orhan Pamuk, Taner Akcam, Yelda Ozcan, and many others like them who dare to speak about the genocide even if it means that their books are burned or they face trials or have to leave the country, then the Turkish society has started to wake up from the 90 year long sleep and started to understand what really happened. It will take time, but they will see the truth.
