It is well documented that he was Armenian. One of the clan of Yergainapzuks was about to become Armenian Catholikos, after being very "close" with Ekaterina the Great.

I was reading some of the posts (mostly interesting discussion I have to admit), but what have stroke me was how a Georgian gentlemen brought forward the issue of orthodoxy in his argument as a point of affinity with the Russian people, yet in the same time bashing the very same people. I wonder how would this gentleman explain the ceaseless efforts on part of Georgian leadership to find some kind of compassion and support among non-orthodox Christians in the West, who by definition stand closer to Armenian Orthodox Apostolicism than Georgian orthodoxy?

Buah-ha-ha-ha! Imbecile nation sounds better!

A civilized nation cannot produce monsters like Beria, Stalin, Gamsahurdia and co...and if and whenever they are produced the "nation" finds the courage and decency to apologize for their deeds as representatives of their nation. Persians were 100 more civilized than your livestock copulating ancestors.

Ger serious and get REAL and before opening your barbarian mouth do some reading! Read your own historians! Here are the population statistics for Georgia since 1817 in brief: Georgians 18.9 % Armenians 75.6% Russians 2.1% Tatars 2.0% Greeks 0.1% In the period 1864-1876 the % of Armenian went down to 41.0% due to establishment of Erivan Gubernia. The Georgian population rise up to 24% in the same period. There were also small communities of Polish, Italians, Germans French, Jews, Greeks and representatives of all Caucasian ethnicities. Tbilisi was truly international city. The influx of Armenian immigrants to Javakh has nothing to do with these numbers and as it is evident the Genocide migration happened much later. As to you being BARBARIAN...I think your MAMA Stalin and your uncle BERIA says it all. Your country is FAKE. Your republic is FAKE and your nation is FAKE, because it was created by the model of Russia as a mini-Caucasian empire by you guess who. Your very own MAMA.

The actions of the Georgians are illogical. To whom if I may ask should Armenians be loyal? To the primitive barbarians – Georgians who are liking the Turkish ass? Well, if they can arrest Armenians for treason, once we take over Javakh and Tiflis they will stop arresting Armenians for loyalty reasons!

Obviously Georgians will continue provoke Armenians living in Georgia and there is only one solution to that problem. Either Armenians will be forcefully removed from their ARMENIAN LANDS in Georgia, or Armenia will declare war on Georgia and those disputed territories will become Armenian de jure. This has been the case since the dawn of the civilization. Since the Georgian authorities are denying basic human rights to their compatriots of Armenian origin let it be war. It is win-win situation for Armenia. In case Armenians are removed from Georgia by force although victorious, the Georgians will be sent back few decades in order to rebuild what has been lost. Those that would take the place of previously Armenian habitat in Georgia are of a kind that soon after with Russian or our help will revolt again against the Georgian government and again Georgia will become cheap corridor for Armenia. At that time Georgians will speak Turkish as an official language and can officially rename their country to Pipistan, after the infamous pipes crossing the country. The other scenario - Armenia winnig the war and joining the adjacent Armenian populated terrritories to Armenia seems a better option for Georgia.

No, No it is you that don't understand! You are saying that Russia lacks national political power, right? For that reason I wished you to have democratic government so that excuses such as the Jews are guilty, the Azeris are guilty, the Marsians are guilty won't hold water.
-
Well, since you find it normal to have good relations with Azerbaidjan and Turkey, the same way I find it normal to have good relations with your supposed enemies. This is business. I really wish that you guys get the hell out of Armenia (not physically of course, I would love to have Russian workers in Armenia, but as political influence). I care about Russians as much as I care about the sex life of Colorado beetle! I wish you good luck in democratization of your country.

Russia has NEVER EVER been our friend - allies yes, but never friends! Russians were in passionate love with Georgians and Turks. Armenians were only excuse for their enlargement to the south. Don't forget that it was the Russians who betrayed us during WWI, pulling their Army from the Caucasian front and leaving few thousand Armenians defending territory previously guarded by tens of thousands. It was the Russians who OCCUPIED Eastern Armenia, instead of "liberating" her. It was the Russians who supported Azerbaidjan in the first phase of Artzakh war, when most civil casualties occurred. And finally don’t forget what Hitler said about Slavs - the manure of Europe! I hope Chechens kick their filthy Russian asses.

US Warns Armenia Not To Exceed The Limit Of Invest
Arevordian replied to Lazar's topic in Economy and State
Than no need to worry! Iranian gas is cheaper, closer and transportation is assured! As to human rights, terrorists, blah, blah...How about Saudis? Aren't they behind Osama? Should USA sanction first themselves for buying Saudi petrol? Either Evans thinks that he is sent to some Banana republic in South America or ....never mind! -
I agree and I don't deny contacts with turks (if you mean Seldjuks), but it happened in 11 century. True! We had more than handfull of contacts with the Romans, Greeks, Persians, Assyrians, Jews, Georgians, Alans, Hunns, Bulgars, Arabs, Slavs, Celts you name it! As to the existance of non-Armenian Gregorians in different sources they are called kipchaks and sometimes Gagauz. The persian word for Georgian for example is Gagauz - which means Christian Turk. They were common population on both sides of the Black Sea. To this day small communities of Gagauz exist in Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria and some villages around Azov sea (probably Georgia too). Basically they are Turkic speaking people but Christian. I do not fully refute the idea that there might have been some turkic people that converted into Armenian brand of Christianity but to exagerate their overall presence in Armenian history is not fair to put it mildly.

BS as usual comming from the school of "all we are somehow related", very typical for the East European and Russian school of history. Armenia and Armenians have nothing in common neither with Turks nor with Turkic people. The only "communion" comes from sporadic contacts with Altai-Turkic ethnicities in North Caucasus and migrants from Central Asia (Bulgars, Hunns, Tatars, etc.). At present there are 177 turkic words in Armenian language. Few centuries back there were NONE. As to Christianized turkic people - yes, there were Christianized according to some historic sources by Armenian missionaries. All these newly baptised Christians hardly left any significant trace of their culture, because soon after they either accepted Islam or the Eastern brand of Orthodoxy.
