  1. my opinion: too many discussions about the payment system and too little about what is going to be sold. We, armenians, think that we have best paintings and best jewellry but that is not the case. And it is not only the quality - can we compete with cheap goods from india/china? i can buy an obsidian vase here in US for about $25 in any mall - why would i be paying someone in Amenia to send it to me? Lets find something of value to others that we can offer - everything else is secondary (web sites, bank accounts, payment methods,...) and can be resolved. And building a web site for Armenian users - forget it, not enough buyers in Armenia.
  2. this is to the friend who had GM analysis: even if considered in the timeframe since September of last year - GM declined from 10.7 to 2.8 today. So it lost way more than half of its value even considering short time frame. If my math is correct - $2.8 is less then 30% of $10.7 so it actually lost more than 70% of its value. Anyway, thanks for going through trouble of posting graphs etc.
  3. Russia gave a lot to all of the former soviet republics. Without Russia Armenia would not have nuclear station and all those scientific achievements, not even the subway. Kazakhstan would not have launching station for spaceships... Do i need to continue with more examples? Armenian science and education is dead since the day Armenia became an independent state. Why? Because we can not afford it now when we are independent. Russia is a great state with great minds in science and culture. I know they like vodka but hey lets be fair here.
  4. Almi, GM stock traded around 30 dollars just a year ago or so, and now it is around $3. So General Motors lost about 90% of its capitalization.
  5. >>>we are heading directly to Banana Republic Style of Existence here. unfortuantely you are wrong my friend, you became Banana republic long time ago (well, only figuratively speaking because formally you are still missing one key ingredient - bananas!)
  6. excuse me for reply in english: who is going to read the paper? how many armenians are in that town? or nearby towns? or spain? would not it be better to have internet magazine so that people can access it even from abroad? and it would be much cheaper to keep the web site up than publish a newspaper. I understand the desire to keep armenian language/culture but i question if the funds could have been spent better? In all circumstances, good luck to your newspaper!
