Some consolation for Mary Pierce. Although she lost in the final the French woman moves from 23rd up to 13th in the WTA rankings. She had been absent from the Top Ten since 10 June 2001.

Justine Henin-Hardenne's lucky number at the 2005 Roland Garros. She won the title - the 23rd of her career - just three days after her 23rd birthday. The Belgian had won 23 consecutive matches on her way to the final, winning clay-court tournaments in Charleston, Warsaw and Berlin on her way to Paris.

В субботу в Париже состоялся мужской парный финал «Ролан Гаррос», в котором белорусский теннисист Максим Мирный, игравший в паре со шведом Йонасом Бьоркманом подтвердили свой высокий номер «посева» (они были вторыми «сеянными»). В финальном матче они встречались с американским дуэтом в лице братьев Брайанов (третий номер посева) и победили в трех сетах.
