Mika - Yereva United 0 - 1

Гол забил Muaygway Fortunate

MIKA had created several opportunities also, but in the 72nd minute, Yerevan United was awarded a free kick outside left side of the 18 yard box. Vadim Ghahramanov crossed the ball inside the small box, where Muaygway Fortunate headed the ball into MIKA’s goal. While Yerevan United players were jumping up and down with joy, there was a deafening silence amongst the spectators.

In the 75th minute, Yerevan United made its first substitution. Araik Markosyan (from MIKA 2004 team) a centre midfielder, made his debut in Yerevan United by replacing Levon Hayrapetyan. The tempo of the game got faster; MIKA unleashed several offensives, which kept Yerevan United’s goal keeper, Raymond Zadouryan very busy, while Yerevan United matched with their own attacks.

In the 84th minute a second substitution for Yerevan United, Robert Mkhitaryan replaced Mher Nazaretyan and in the dying minutes of the game Gourgen Shahverdyan replaced Abel Minasyan.

The game ended 1-0 for the new sensation in the Armenian football arena, Yerevan United. They were out of the Independence Cup 2005, but they have captured the attention of the Armenian football followers.

Как гранд может появится в первой лиге? То что они обыграли Мику уже заслуживает уважения и доказывает что команда боеспособная.

BIG VICTORY FOR YEREVAN UNITED

Tuesday 19 April 2005

PYUNIK II 1 - 4 YEREVAN UNITED (0-2)

It was a cloudy spring day in Yerevan. A long awaited match was on in the afternoon, the new surprise pack team of Yerevan, Yerevan United, was to face 2004 First League Champions PYUNIK II.

The whole football community in Armenia and the Diaspora were anxious to see what result would come out of this clash. Well over 200 spectators were gathered, along with various media reporters, at Pyunik's stadium. The pitch looked sensational.

The teams entered the arena. Since it was the first game of the Championship, the National Anthem was played and the whistle for the start of the game was blown. It was high quality football that we were witnessing. Yerevan United made it clear to PYUNIK II players from the start, that they were not going to have an easy game like they've been used to in 2004.

Although for the first 10 minutes, PYUNIK made several attempts in their opposition half, Yerevan United launched their decisive offenses and in the 14th minute Abel Minasyan kicked the ball in PYUNIK's net.

Yerevan United continued their barrage of attacks. PYUNIK had no answer and in the 37th minute, a fast brake saw Vadim Ghahramanov dribble his way past the goalkeeper and tap the ball in the net.

The second half started with PYUNIK determined to take control. After several tries only four minutes later, in the 49th minute they scored their only goal of the match. Yerevan United fans were on their nerves, hope was restored in PYUNIK supporters which lasted less than a minute, where Vadim Ghahramanov in the 49th minute scored his second and Yerevan United restored their supremacy.

In the 67th minute, Ghahramanov completed his hat-trick.

The remaining 20 minutes, Yerevan United displayed some of the most enjoyable football, that all fans love to see, relaxed and entertaining.

It is still early to come to conclusions about 2005, but it is hard to avoid the fact that Yerevan United's quest to join Premier League in 2006 is well on track.
