ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey is an attractive country for investors, world-famous U.S. speculator and investor George Soros said on Wednesday.

In a conference on ''how better a role the United States can have in the world'' held in Turkish commercial hub of Istanbul, Soros said, ''I think AKP (ruling Justice & Development Party) believes in democracy. I think it (AKP government) is more honest than the previous governments, and corruption is less. And, I think it deserves more support.''

On Turkey's European Union (EU) membership bid, Soros said, ''if Turkey insists on this road, Europe will accept that Turkey is capable of becoming an EU member.''

Pointing out that Turkey was a democratic country among other Islam countries, Soros said, ''democracy is possible in an Islamic country. Therefore, Turkey should be considered positive by President Bush.''

Soros noted that anti-American views were not present solely in Turkey, but could be seen in many other places in the world, and added, ''good relations between Ankara and Washington are important.''

The International Crisis Group (ICG) has asked Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan regarding what can be done to solve the Cyprus issue.

An ICG delegation and famous speculator George Soros reportedly held a meeting with Erdogan and asked the Prime Minister about the Cyprus issue. "We need to do something in Southern Cyprus. What can be done for this?" the ICG delegates asked. Erdogan in return explained that Turkey has taken steps for peace on the Island. Everything that is possible has so far been done, as far as the Turkish side is concerned, the Prime Minister said, "We have also paid the price of taking these steps." He reiterated the Turkish support for the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Kofi Annan's efforts as well, and Erdogan gained support for lifting embargo on the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The ICG members promised to voice support for the TRNC on every platform. Turkey is a constructive country when faced with a crisis, say Soros and his think team, and they also expressed a willingness to cooperate with Turkey.

During a television program in which Erdogan was asked about his meeting with Soros, he confirmed that they had exchanged views on Iraq, Syria, and the Middle East: "They have reports to prepare as well. They proposed support regarding Cyprus and will prepare a new report now. They wanted to see our expectations in regard to this report." State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener, State Minister and Chief Negotiator to the EU Ali Babacan, Minister of Finance Kemal Unakitan, the Justice and Development Party (AKP) Deputy leader Saban Disli and Erdogan's foreign policy adviser and AKP Istanbul Deputy Egemen Bagis also attended the meeting with the ICG delegation.

Интересно чье это Сорос так влюбился в Турцию. Вот хитрый тип. Хочет убедить Турков и ЕС чтобы Турцию приняли в ЕС. Он же не дурак хорошо понимает что после этого начнется в Европе.

А тут и уже Северный Кипр хочет отделить от Кипра который уже вошел в ЕС !!!! Нет вы только подумаете.

Хотя я думаю инцидент с Северным Кипром пойдет на пользу нам. Хотя бы в идеологическом плане.

Сорос не столько является финансистом, сколько финансовым прикрытием правительства США, и все что он делает делает в интересах США. Редкий тип, агент ЦРУ свободно разгуливающий по миру.

Все наблюдения показывают, и лично мое мнение, что Сорос завербованный агент ЦРУ.

Интересно, что являясь якобы сторонником Демократов, Сорос комфортно чувствует себя и при Республиканцах, и ведет такую же лоббистскую политику. Вы не чувствуете там где оказывается Сорос, потом начинает пахнуть интересами США? Вот увидите, после того как Сорос лишится своего дара передвигаться, появится такой же "финансист" в облике хамелеона под секретным названием - финансовое прикрытие США.

С такими типами нужно поосторожнее быть, лично меня до сих пор интересует обвал российского рынка в августе 97г., после чего наблюдался глубочайший экономический кризис в России, вопреки мнениям финансистов, при глубоком анализе можно выявить, что никто на этом не заработал, так какую же цель преследовал этот обвал и кем он был организован?

Конечно же цинично фашистское гос-во называть демократическим, но в одном Сорос прав, это правительство более честное, оно не скрывает своих фашистких взглядов, а делает все напоказ и откровенно. Чего только стоило принятие закона об уголовной наказуемости признания геноцида армян и признания северного Кипра частью единого Кипра. Браво Эрдоган.

Сорос может умный, но европейцы тоже не тупые. Если цель Сороса пропихать турцию в ЕС, то не тем местом пихает. Европейцев хоть пугай, хоть ласкай, не примут они турок к себе. Единственный вариант, чтобы убедить европейцев и пропихать Турцию в ЕС -- демократизация Турции.

Чем больше и настойчивее американцы будут говорить о демократической Турции, чем больше и настойчивее американцы будут пихать турок в ЕС, тем выгоднее для нас. Подобные действия не на шутку задевают и раздражают европейцев, которые в свою очередь, чтобы показать фашистскую и азиатскую сущность турок, разыгрывают армянский вопрос. Фактически, можно считать, что армяне опять спасают зад европейцев. Ведь зад -- это самая любимая часть тела у турок :lol:
