Настоящие имя и фамилия – Майтена Думенач ( Maitena Doumenach ).Мари Лафоре по происхождению из семьи армянских эмигрантов. В возрасте 16 лет она на телевезионом конкурсе заменила свою сестру, которая болела. И выиграла этот конкурс. Здесь и нашла свое признание быть актрисой. Дебют в кино Мари Лафоре состоялся в фильме "На ярком солнце", в этом же фильме играл Ален Делон. С 1960 года была замужем за режиссёром Жаном – Габриелем Альбикокко. С 1978 года живёт в Швейцарии, в городе Женеве. У Мари Лафоре есть сын. До 1981 года руковадила художественной галереей.
