Տրապիզոն 1915 : Scan Of Survivor Transcript

Recommended Posts

Already 151 scanned (small) web pages :

My grandmother dictated her memoirs to my aunt in the years of 1964-65 in Paris (?). What you see is a rewriting (by an Armenian from the Middle East who had a good amenian education). The original manuscript of my aunt is very bad written because in those years they did not have a tape recorder.

Their photos in Venice (in the years of 1970) :

My grandmother and my aunt's photos in Trabzon with my grandfather (who was one of the first to be killed) :( :

My grand-mother's sister was 21 years old in 1915. She was with a group of other women in the Pontus Mountain. My grandmother was told that her sister preferred to throw herself into the ravine when a turkish tchete approached her and wanted to touch her... When I was a child I saw my grandmother weeping when looking at this photo :

Here is my page on Trabzon :

I have other family old photos of Trabzon to scan.

Very touching and very precious, Nil! :flag:

No Kars, I have not. Of course one day I'll do it or make it done. But it is not the time now. I have to finish the work I have begun. Yesterday I put 12 new pages and I hope to finish in 2-3 weeks (?).

But I must say it is rather (and even very) toilsome. :( I must put a distance to this red-hot family document, to have less personal relation with it. :( One day I shall tell how and what conditions I found this manuscript. It can be a topics for a novel.

Best regards. Nil (Paris)

Very well, then.

I think you are in the right place, Nil. :flag:

We, in this forum, are trying to do whatever possible to sponsor this kind of participation. And we’ll do everything to assist you in your program in any way (I’m talking on behalf of the moderators of this forum – not on my own).

By the way, you have been rated by our moderating team as one of our most respected newcomers, and there is a very good reason for that. :flag:

Good friendly advice, Nil:

Do not paste links to your site for assistance or advice in translating. It will be much easier if you simply paste words and phrases that need to be translated in the “Translation” topic, where you definitely can get a faster response.

*******************

Another good friendly advice, Nil:

Why don’t you open your own topic in the “History” section? Instead of spreading your questions and requests all over the forum?

By concentrating your theme in one separate topic, you will make everybody’s participation much easier. :hi:
