Karmir Posted October 12, 2004 Report Share Posted October 12, 2004 Католичкеская Церковь не принимает Хэллоуин в виде маскарада с ведьмами и скелетами и тыквы с вырезанными горящими глазами и "прикольными" страшилками. Это всё совсем уж к церковному празднику не имеет отношения. И церковь (во всяком случае наша) выступает против подобного рода заигрываний с такими вещами резко отрицательно День Всех Святых - католический праздник, посвящённый христианским Святым, для которых нет отдельных праздников в календаре. It is celebrated in much of the Western world, though most commonly in the United States (to which Irish and other immigrants brought the tradition in the 19th century). Halloween also is called All Saints' Eve, All Hallows' Eve, or Hallowe'en, as it is the eve before the Catholic holy day of All Saints (which itself is known as All Hallows). Halloween is also known as the Day of the Dead, and it is a day of celebration for Wiccans and other pagan traditions, though generally the holiday has lost its religious connotations. Halloween is sometimes associated with the occult. Many European cultural traditions hold that Halloween is one of the "liminal" times of the year when the spirit world can make contact with the natural world (see, for example, Catalan mythology about witches) and when magic is most potent. It used to be that on Halloween, schools would give children boxes to collect pennies in for UNICEF, but after these fundamentalist Christians complained that the schools were endorsing a Pagan religion, most schools stopped distributing such boxes. Other Christians, however, continue to connect this holiday with All Saints Day. Some modern Christian churches commonly offer a "fall festival" or harvest-themed alternative to Halloween celebrations. Still most Christians hold the view that the holiday is "safe"; that is, that it is not Satanic in origin or practice and that it holds no threat to the spiritual lives of children. NewOne Posted October 14, 2004 Report Share Posted October 14, 2004 Никогда не воспринимала Halloween как праздник, но в школе, на уроках английского, это был классный повод устроить чаепитие с тортиком Поэтому никакого негатива к этому "торжеству" не питаю, нравится им праздновать, пусть празднуют, все равно к нашей культуре это событие вообще никаким боком не относится. PS Кстати в моей первой школе, где я училась класса до 6-ого, директором была армянка, и она этот Halloween запретила праздновать и ученикам, и учителям под страхом увольнения с работы.
