  5. That's fine, likewise I understand Russian but i'm unable to respond in Russian. Thank you for the prompt and detailed response. I have never heard anyone claim anything regarding language. One must be an utter fool to say Armenians did not speak Greek. How did they attend the previous Councils then? Most Armenians of course knew Greek while also those living within the Eastern Roman Empire used Greek on a daily basis. Two things are usually asserted. First and foremost being the war with Sassanids. 1) Armenian clergy was heavily involved in the war effort and was unable to attend the Council of Chalcedon. Constantinople did not send help because the war with the Huns of Atilla had drained the treasury. 2) Armenian clergy did not send a bishop in order to curb the ever growing influence of the Eastern Roman Empire and not lose its administrative chairs and remain distinct basically. Interesting. First time i'm hearing of this. Could you refer me to literature from earlier Church Fathers that suggests our Church suspected Nestorian influence within Chalcedon? But isn't saying two natures, one divine and one human essentially the same as what the Armenian Church says? That is one nature, where divine and human are united. It falls down to semantics. The differences in Christology are to a large extent only differences in terminology ? People who wrongly accuse us of Monophysitism on the other hand believe that we say one nature in line with Eutychianism or Apollinarianism. I see. Basically it's the use of anything dual that's the root of the problem. I'm sure it wont occur with a new -ism like the failed Monothelitism. However, since neither Catholics nor Orthodox consider the AAC heretical and vice versa, in what form do you see the concessions? Thank you.

  8. Father Ghevond, My Russian is poor so I'm asking this question in English. Do you agree that the rejection of Chalcedon was not a theological issue? Given the fact that Armenian Apostolic Church is not and has never been monophysite and that we follow the formula of Cyril of Alexandria whom the Council of Chalcedon pronounced clearly as most Orthodox do you believe it's time to embrace full Communion with Eastern Orthodoxy since our political grievances of the past that resulted in the schism are long gone? In particular I admire St. Nerses the Graceful(Shnorhali)'s efforts in this matter, that is ”two natures, divine and human, united without confusion, without change, without division, without separation” and ”one nature, divine and human” are one and the same thing! Minor issues such as unleavened bread and red wine(not mixed with water) can be discussed as well. Thank you.

  16. censored - kars I would like to think I would not be forced to end up in such a predicament. I'd rather go to Zimbabwe than anywhere where azeris and georgians roam. However, to answer your rhetorical question quite frankly I would choose one based on morphological attributes and evident manners.
