Всякое бывает. Правда, слово «завоевывать» не очень удачно выбрано. Архивы истории богаты событиями, когда слабая сторона творила чудеса на поле боя с более сильным противником. (Далеко идти не надо).

No worries. Thanks. I have Richard Hovannisian’s works sitting on the shelf just six feet away from me. All I need is a particular citation – and we can go on with the discussion. Without it you leave an impression of a person who enjoys throwing uncorroborated, empty phrases around – with absolutely no responsibility for his own words and with no respect towards himself. And there is no need to hurry. I’m here and got no plans for going anywhere, in near future. Just an advice, muallim: next time you quote a source, make sure you’ve got the evidence handy – to support the quote. Otherwise you’ll be treated like most Turks who pop up in this forum every now and then, say something stupid and then disappear again into their virtual Turan.

It is only fair to request that you quote R. Hovannisian verbatim, rather than just throw meaningless words around. Where and what is said in his book in this regard? Besides, what makes you think that Armenians are “blinded” by said “loyalty to Russia”? We, too, had (and still have) our ups and downs in our relations with Russians and nobody is denying that. You should be more specific in your rhetoric, if you want to be taken seriously here.
