I'm so sorry for pressing on, but I'm still not confident I understand what the quotation means literally. I think I'm getting the idea behind it, and I have a feeling I understand all the individual words, but I'm having trouble getting the grammar. What I have now is: "Border guys were Mausers/arms their." I can't make heads or tails out of it... Any way to rephrase it in "modern" Armenian?

Of course սահման means border, and I have a feeling մաուզերք refers to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauser , but the rest and everything together makes no sense to me at all.
